Who is this course for?

This course is for people who want to learn, practice and teach authentic, do-able yoga. For some it's the first step on the way to a career as a yoga teacher. For others, its an opportunity for self development.

This course is NOT for you if you want to learn fast-paced, acrobatic yoga. We take an individualised, body-positive approach that makes yoga accessible to everybody. Emphasising inculsivity, this course is also ideal for people who want to integrate yoga into their existing roles, including:

  • Parents
  • Educators
  • Life coaches
  • Community workers
  • Psychologists and counsellors
  • Healthcare professionals
  • You!
You DON’T need to be strong, flexible, slender or fit. This is an inclusive training that welcomes all body shapes, sizes and ages. It's helpful if you've had at least six months experience of yoga - it's easier to share your love of yoga when you've experienced the benefits for yourself.

"Very in depth 200hr teacher training with highly relevant subject matter and experienced teachers. I loved the small supportive group setting. It felt like we were learning how to teach yoga with integrity and most importantly how to make it accessible to all members of the community." Jen M, 2016 Graduate.

Course Dates

This course runs from 9.00am - 5pm every Sunday from 6th May 2018.

You will also attend 3 x Private Mentoring Sessions, arranged at times to suit you. For full timetable and dates, please download the course prospectus.

What style of yoga will I learn?

This course is based on the traditional teachings of classical hatha yoga. Senior faculty on this course have trained in the tradition of Sri Krishnamacharya, a style of yoga that adapts every practice to the needs of each individual. There are no set sequences, levels of achievement or rigid templates. This training is flexible and responsive to the requirements of every student. You'll receive a thorough grounding in traditional, authentic yoga AND learn how to adapt these timeless teachings for modern students.

What accreditation will I receive?

This course is recognised internationally and is Yoga Alliance accredited. Upon successful completion you will become an RYT200 certified yoga teacher. At Adore Yoga, we believe that all 200hr courses are foundational training only and strongly recommend that yoga teachers continue their education after graduation to meet Yoga Australia minimum criteria of 350hrs training.

Do I need to be able to demonstrate all the poses?

No. There's more to being a good yoga teacher than being able to do the physical poses. You will be trained to practice and teach a variety of modifications, including the use of yoga props, to make yoga accessible to everybody.

What happens if I can't make all the classes?

You need to attend a minimum of 80% of the face to face training hours in order to qualify for accreditation. If you cannot make all of the sessions, a limited number of them can be made up during one-on-one mentoring sessions. However, if you can't make at least 80% of the face to face sessions, you will not be able to graduate.

Will I be qualified to teach yoga in schools, hospitals, clinics and other organisations?

Yes. This course is an ideal foundational training for people who want to take yoga in to community and clinical settings.

How will I be assessed?

This course includes 5 assessments, including practical teaching assessments, short written answers and multiple choice questions. You will also keep a regular journal of your learning and teaching process. All assessments are designed to help you learn rather than 'test' your knowledge.
