What students are saying about this course:
“Adore Yoga’s meditation course gave me a platform from which to structure a meditation course for a range of people in a range of settings. The course was well planned and enjoyable offering both the practical elements but also the philosophical underpinnings of meditation. Both Sunita and Nikola were knowledgeable and approachable with an easy interactional style. I would highly recommend this course.”

Meditation Facilitator Certificate Curriculum
The Neuroscience and Philosophy of Meditation
Your training starts with an exploration of the ancient philosophy of meditation and the cutting edge neuroscience. You'll learn the traditional wisdom of meditation through the teachings of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras and discover the modern evidence base for meditation as we dive into the research on meditation and neuroscience.
Eastern Traditions-Western Mind
How is Eastern psychology different to the Western approach to mental health? In this fascinating section of the course, you'll do a deep dive into the psychology of meditation and learn how to integrate ancient Eastern practices into classes for modern Western students.
What is the mind? What does it do and what are its functions? You'll discover the classical yoga perspective on the nature of the mind itself and then explore the benefits - and potential drawbacks - of mindfulness meditation. You'll learn how careful preparation can make all the difference to the mediation experience and look at ways to take mindfulness off the meditation cushion and into daily life. In this section of the course you'll learn to practice and teach a number of different mindfulness practices.
How are the body and mind connected? How does the body influence the mind and vice versa? Drawing on ancient traditions and modern science, we will explore how to integrate body and mind in our meditation practice. In this section of the course, you will learn to practice and teach mindful movements, including walking meditation and yoga postures that enhance meditation.
Prana, Energy and Meditation
Explore the yogic concepts of Prana (life force energy), Nadis (energy channels) and Chakras (physical energy centres) and how to use these subtle energies in meditation practice. In this section of the course, you will learn important yoga breathing techniques (Pranayama) and how to teach these techniques to support positive mental health.
Relaxation and Meditation
Global stress levels are exceptionally high right now. Relaxation plays a crucial role in the practice of meditation. In this section of the course, you will learn effective relaxation techniques that bring instant calm and enhance meditation. Learn how to teach Yoga Nidra, progressive muscle relaxation and guided relaxations.
Structuring Meditation Classes
Learn how to create meditation classes - online and offline - that flow seamlessly. You’ll learn how to prepare, plan and deliver classes and courses that meet your students’ needs. At the end of this session you will have a five week meditation course ready to offer to your students. You'll also receive expert coaching on how to teach meditation online.
What style of meditation will I learn?

- Mindfulness meditation
- Mantra meditation
- Moving meditation
- Metta (Loving Kindness) meditation
- Yoga Nidra meditation

"I am yoga teacher, specializing in teaching over 50’s. I enrolled in this course for two reasons, one was to establish my own practice and the other to include some of the elements of meditation in my teaching. The facilitators Sunita and Nikola are very knowledgeable and engaging. There were 12 of us in the course. About half of the participants were not yoga teachers. This made the course even more very interesting. The non- teachers work in ‘other healing’ roles such as voice coaching, clinical physiologist. In group practice session it was lovely to see non yogic interpretation of yogic principles & practising. We also learnt about course planning, understanding our market – which was very helpful. I am already planning a four week introductory yoga course!
I came away at the end of course feeling tired and on high. I had a surge of optimism which I have not felt for a long time. I would highly recommend this course for anybody wishing to brush up on their yoga knowledge, for those who want to learn about yoga philosophy and for those who want to learn meditation. Thank you for the experience."
