Integrating the 5 Koshas through your yoga practice
Think that yoga works on the body, mind and spirit? Think again! Yoga works on FIVE different levels:
- The Physical Body
- The Vital Energy
- The Intellect
- The Higher Mind
- Pure Essence
It’s the interplay of these five layers – the 5 Koshas - that creates the sense of profound wholeness familiar to seasoned yogis. In this Intensive you will discover how the careful layering of traditional yogic practices can enhance your ability to tune in and ‘feel what you’re feeling’ - the key to a healthy, balanced life.
During this 3.5hr workshop, you will deepen your understanding of the five koshas, as taught in the ancient yogic text, the Taittiriya Upanishad. Through an exploration of yogic philosophy and practical exercises, you'll experience:
- Breathing techniques to enhance the Life Force Energy (prana)
- The use of chanting and mantra to focus the mind and harness the breath
- Practical exercises to focus your attention and prepare for meditation
- Techniques to integrate all the 'layers' of your being to create a sense of wholeness
Who's going to this yoga workshop?
Yoga teachers and yoga students who want to deepen their understanding of the 5 Koshas and learn techniques to integrate these layers of our being to create satisfying and transformational yoga practices. This advanced teacher training offers CPD points for certified yoga teachers.
